Location
The entrance to the hotel reception is from the Mall road, access to which is restricted to pedestrians and emergency vehicles only. There are two ways to reach the hotel - guests can take the stairs (80 steps) to come up from the hotel parking to the hotel entrance, this takes about 5 minutes. Alternatively guests can take the walkway to reach the hotel from the High Court gate. Wheelchair assistance can be offered in special cases where guests cannot climb the stairs or walk up the walkway. Please notify us in advance for wheelchair assistance.

By road
Shimla is 88 kms from Kalka, 113 kms from Chandigarh and 345 kms from Delhi. The drive from Delhi to Shimla takes approximately 9 hours and from Chandigarh to Shimla, approximately 3.5 hours.
By rail
Trains from Delhi to Chandigarh or Kalka take approximately 5 hours. From Kalka, train connections on a quaint narrow gauge railway, built in 1903, are available up to Shimla. The travel time is approximately 3.5 hours. From Chandigarh to Shimla, it takes 4 hours by road.
Please note that Clarkes' Hotel falls in the pedestrian zone and vehicles are not allowed till the hotel. Cars cannot pick or drop guests up to the hotel.
As Clarkes is situated on the main hub “The Mall Road” and Mall road being entirely vehicle restricted, there are two ways to reach the hotel.
Option a) Either you can take the stairs to come up from the hotel parking till the Main porch which is (80-85 stairs) a 05 minutes uphill walk or there is a roadway to come up to the hotel from the high court gate, which will take 10-12 minutes to reach the hotel. We can also arrange for a Wheelchair if required through the same way.
Option b) There is ample parking available at the municipal corporation parking lot located near 'the lift'/public elevators situated close to the hotel. The most convenient route to Clarkes is up through the elevator and a level walk of 5 minutes to the main entrance of the hotel. Local porters can be hired to carry the luggage. When you have to go for sight-seeing , excursions and visit to any Government office , you require a 5 minutes short walk to reach to your vehicle.
King sized beds can be taken only on request- Superior and Deluxe room have Twin beds only and Suites & premier have King Size beds.
